Usability Experiences With the Apple Magic Mouse →
Justin Lowery:
Today, I spent a bunch of time with the Magic Mouse at my local (Crossgates) Apple Store. I’m sorry to have to announce this, but it sucks. It really makes me wonder how this product made it through the usually rigorous user testing that Apple puts their products through. The thing is shaped like a sailboat. It’s bottom is curved upwards at an awkward angle, making it nearly impossible to hold comfortably. The top is so flat that there is nothing to rest your hand on while using it, effectively forcing you to hold your hand in an awkward pseudo-dragon-claw shape that is far less comfortable than any mouse I have ever used. The mighty mouse actually wasn’t too bad compared to this.
Apple mice has always been made for the average user, but apparently, we’ve reached a new low.
The good news is I only use my MacBook multisexytouch trackpad.
