Productivity Future Vision by Microsoft

I like Microsoft’s vision of the future: interconnected devices designed with good taste. They stay out of your way while helping you do more.

The thing is, five years ago, I saw an awesome Microsoft video like this one. It featured people using interactive business cards to schedule meetings and find their way to a building.

“This is the future”, they said.

“I can’t wait for the future”, I thought.

But few months later, I didn’t buy a concept, I bought an iPhone.

I’m surprised Microsoft sells Visual Studio to developers who want to create Windows app.

And that developers need a page to compare the four different editions.

And that it took me a Google request to find out there are four free editions of Visual Studio Express 2010. And another product comparison chart.

Actually, I’m not surprised.

The 7 different cursors I’ve found in a 300-pixel wide space using Office 2008 for Mac.

Someone approved this idea. Think about that.

Basecamp is the first product I have seen that is truly project management for everyone.
